Risk-awareness guide

A practical QC checklist before you move on

Browsing is only the first step. Use this checklist to slow down before a clean category page turns into an unsupported assumption.

Last reviewed . The checklist was reviewed for observable fields and missing-evidence prompts; it does not certify authenticity, materials, or condition.

1. Check the listing evidence

  • Does the page show multiple useful angles, not just a polished lead image?
  • Are measurements present and relevant to the category?
  • Do material, construction, or finish notes explain anything specific?
  • Are there close-ups for the parts that usually vary most?
  • Does the listing contradict itself across title, photos, and description?

2. Check category-specific details

  • Clothing: size chart, chest, shoulder, length, waist, inseam, fabric, and cut.
  • Shoes: size conversion, profile, toe, heel, outsole, top-down view, and batch comparison.
  • Bags: dimensions, structure, strap length, interior, hardware, and edge finish.
  • Accessories: scale, finish, material, clasp or connection points, and compatibility where relevant.
  • Other finds: packaging, fragility, liquid restrictions, electronics compatibility, room decor dimensions, and shipping assumptions.

3. Check what is missing

Missing information matters more than beginners expect. If a listing avoids the exact angle, measurement, or close-up you need, that is not a neutral gap. It changes how much confidence the listing deserves.

Before moving forward, write down one sentence: “The main thing I still cannot confirm is...” If that sentence describes an important detail, keep comparing.

4. Check your own process

If you found the item through a litbuy spreadsheet guide, remember what that tool did for you: it helped you discover faster. It did not verify the item. Your process should still include careful comparison, sizing review, and realistic shipping expectations.

What to do next

If you still need category context, return to the categories hub. If the listing evidence is strong and your comparison points are clear, continue to FindsIndex for broader discovery.
